![]() In general, I’m glad we are getting back to seeing the Jaclyn we all loved before. I know there are a few glow powders on the market, but not many. I find myself using my regular Morphe brushes instead of this one, so if you’re on the fence about the brushes, I say skip.īut the powder is good! It’s also a unique product. I got the Mood Light Powder Brush (it came free as a promotion) and honestly, this is nothing to be impressed by. Great if you’re looking for a natural makeup look and I think it looks great with full glam or even just a tinted moisturizer. It’s not a blinding highlight it’s a glow. I use it to set the under eye after concealer and it brightens up that area, and 2. I don’t know if I would use this for an all-over setting powder, because it does have an obvious glow to it, but I’ve enjoyed using it in two different ways: 1. You don’t need much product and the packaging is really nice. It’s $32 for a jar, and it’s pretty substantial. I got the second to lightest option: Brighten Up, which is a peachy tone. It’s available in five shades for different skin tones. Use it as a finishing powder all over the face to get that lit-from-within look or apply it to targeted areas for a soft highlight. Infused with diamond and rose quartz powders, this multi-purpose formula blurs imperfections, enhances your complexion, and delivers a radiant finish. So, I bought the Mood Light Luminous Glow Powder during a sale and I got a free Jaclyn Cosmetics brush to use with it.īring out that inner glow with this magically luminous powder. I know some would love to see her relaunch the lipstick line! Generally speaking, I think a lot of her fans want her to succeed. ![]() I wrote extensively about it ( read it here) - it was really hard to watch and I stopped watching her videos and I was skeptical when she launched the line of highlighters for the holiday season.īut slowly, the Jaclyn we all know and love has been reappearing, and it’s really great to see. ![]() Horrible, embarrassing reviews started coming in and Jaclyn resorted to comments and even videos that were full of dishonest excuses for a failed launch. When they arrived, they were beautifully packaged and the lipsticks went on like butter.īut many didn’t have that same experience. ![]() I was waiting at my computer to order a trio of lipsticks as soon as they dropped and I shelled out the $50 for them. She was starting with a line of nude lipsticks - and if you’re at all into makeup - you know what happened. So last summer, when she announced the launch of her very own company Jaclyn Cosmetics, I was SO pumped. I’ve always loved makeup, but watching her videos made me even more excited about videos and she’s influenced me to try so many different cosmetics and skincare goodies. If you’ve been around for awhile, you might know that Jaclyn Hill was my entry into the Beauty YouTuber community. It didn't eliminate the dewy finish of my foundation, but it did harness the shine into more of a glow the overly vibrant blush was subdued into an ideal intensity, and instead of settling into my lines, it seemed to float above them. You might be surprised to see a review from Jaclyn Cosmetics here… Frankly, I’m a little shocked to be writing it! Tapping off the extra back into the jar, I timidly started applying the incredibly fine, sweetly scented powder to my entire face, and its effects were instantly apparent. They blend into every imaginable skin tone, and for my particular skin tone, the shade Butter was the way to go.Īfter applying some drugstore primer and foundation and a slightly-too-bright-for-my-liking blush, I dipped a fluffy brush in the excessive amount of powder I'd welcomed through the tiny holes in the retro jar's plastic separator. But unlike its big-sister base's 50 shades, the loose powder comes in only eight shades - and that's no oversight. In fact, the original Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation has won both Allure Readers' Choice and Best of Beauty Awards (consider this foreshadowing). Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder is one of eight types of Pro Filt'r complexion products in the Fenty Beauty family, including foundations, concealer, and primers. But if that's the extent of how I describe Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder, then I'm not doing it justice. But these days, portable isn't exactly a high-priority quality for me since I'm pretty much hanging out at home and seeing people only via Zoom, so I decided to expand my horizons and check out what seems to be the complete antithesis: a loose, tinted powder in a decidedly bulky jar. The pressed, translucent white, easily portable product is somehow still going despite very regular use. I'm not entirely sure how, but I've been using the same finishing powder for three years.
